WOW!!  Is what we said when we walked out to do 4am checks and this white filly was standing there out of our black mare!!  An absolutely huge filly, this filly was born larger than our 2 week old filly in the next stall!!  Mattie is DNA tested positive for Frame Overo and is also HOMOZYGOUS black.  This filly is the first ever maximum expressed Frame Overo Thoroughbred filly!  She has excellent conformation and absolutely stunning movement.  This filly just floats on air when she moves, and uses her whole body to follow through.  With her huge reach and thrust, this filly’s air time would put even those Flemmingh babies to shame!!   Her name hails from Pocahontas’ Indian name (Matoka).  We felt that the name was fitting for her as Matoka was an Indian Princess in a new world- truly a one of a kind during her time.  Mattie is also a one of a kind in this time- a Maximum Expressed Frame Overo and also a Jockey Club Registered Thoroughbred! This special filly has given us one more suprise!!  She has shed out her foal coat TRI-COLORED!!  Her back, hock and chest spots are black; and her medecine hat and under her chin is a much lighter brown!! Mattie will be dual registered with Jockey Club and APHA.  We expect her to attain at least her mama’s full height of 16.1h- and may be even larger, given her current bone structure.  Look for her at the end of the summer after weaning at USDF competitions!  $Private Treaty- please call to inquire on this special filly.
